José María "Pechito" López se coronó campeón del mundo del mundial de turismos FIA WTCC, luego ganar la primera de las dos carreras celebradas hoy Nov 26th (Nationaltag in Österreich!) en Suzuka, Japón.

La razón por la que hago este post no es solo para felicitar a Pechito, sino también para tratar de corregir una información que ha sido generada incorrectamente por el periodismo en argentina y copiada también erróneamente alrededor del mundo.

Este es el IKA Torino. Un auto argentino que vio la vida en la década del 60 basado en el Rambler American pero con carrocer¿ia de Pininfarina.
Mucho se puede encontrar en internet acerca del Torino. Pero si no eres argentino o no hablas castellano, seguramente nunca habrás oido hablar de él.
Así que con este pequeño tributo al Torino, mi invitación a que lo conoscas.
¿Por qué no soñar con un Torino siglo XXI traído a la vida por el mismísimo Horacio Pagani?
This is the IKA Torino. An argentinian car that came to life in the late 60s, based in the Rambler American but with the body shape from Pininfarina.
Plenty of information about the Torino can be found in the Internet, but if you are not from Argentina or you don't speak English, I bet that you've never heard from this car.
So, with this little tribute to the Torino, I extend you my invitation to meet him.
Maybe we can dream with a Torino from the 21st-Century brought to life by the great Horacio Pagani.
Dieses ist der IKA Torino. Ein argentinisches Auto das in der 60er Jahre zum Leben kam, basiert auf dem Rambler American aber mit Pininfarina carroserie.
Zu viel kann man in Internet über den Torino finden. Aber manche menschen in nicht-spanische-sprechenden Ländern oder außer Argentinien kennen dieses Auto nicht, und vielleicht eine kleine Einladung brauchen.

Se me dió por buscar el otro día en internet algunos juguetes que tenía cuando era chico, allá en Argentina, y viendo fotos por Google fui a parar a un sitio de venta online que ofrecía una camioneta Galgo 4x4 en perfecto estado, incluyendo el envoltorio original.
Estas camionetitas fueron un furor allá por 1997 o 1998 creo recordar, y todos queríamos tener una. Como eran muy simples, funcionaban con una pila AA normal y no eran muy caras se extendieron bastantes y casi todos los pibes del barrio tenían una.
Por supuesto que nos pasábamos horas en el arenero de la plaza haciendo pistas, y el sueño de mas de uno era tener un circuito 4x4 como el que aparecía en la propaganda, con puentes hechos con palitos simulando un puente real de troncos en una jungla...
No sé cuántas versiones se hicieron, pero creo que mas allá de los colores, si venían con cubierta de caja o con barra antivuelco, solo hubo una evolución, que era el agregado de una luz en una especie de antena bastante burda.
Al final le pedí a mi hermana en Argentina que contactara con el vendedor y pudo comprar esa que tenía en oferta, y un viaje que hice en estos días pude traermela para que la disfrute mi pibe también... Está impecable, solo con las calcomanías un poquito despegadas, pero ya le hice un mantenimiento.

Si sos de Argentina (y si, lo escribo en "argentino", mis disculpas a los lectores del resto de hispanoamérica) y tenés mas de, digamos, 20 años, seguramente que habrás visto, leído y disfrutado de la revista mas educativa, cautivante y exitante jamás creada para los chicos. la revista Lúpin. Este es mi pequeño homenaje a la revista que me acompañó durante mi infancia y me cambió la vida. Hoy soy ingeniero aeronáutico gracias en parte a esta revista.

Cuando se viaja a un país diferente, normalmente uno pide una visa de viajero (si la necesita), se lleva consigo sus tarjetas de crédito, lo que sea que lleve consigo y, por supuesto, algo de dinero en efectivo en la moneda del país de destino (o en dólares, o en euros) para pequeños gastos que no se puedan pagar con tarjeta, como un taxi o un café al paso.
When you travel to a different country, you normally get a visa (in case you need it), your credit cards, your stuff, and of course, some local money (or US dollars or Euros) "just in case" you can't use your credit cards, or just to pay the taxi or a coffee.

Si uno desea viajar a Disneylandia o ver a sus familiares en Europa, tiene que viajar sin moneda local, porque no la puede comprar en Argentina. Si, has leido bien: los viajeros argentinos no tienen la posibilidad de comprar moneda extranjera.
That will be the normal situation in a free democratic country. Well, this is not "normal" in Argentina. If you want to go to Disneyland or to visit your familiars in Europe, you can't buy local money. Yes, you read it right: the travellers have no possibility now to buy foreign money.
Y entonces, cómo viajo?... solo con la tarjeta de crédito (sobre la cuál pesa una tasa de 15% sobre cada compra realizada en el exterior)?... bueno, lo que está sucediendo realmente es que la mayoría de la gente va a decidir no viajar.

Hace 11 años nos secuestraron nuestros ahorros (yo todavía estaba allá, y lo viví en carne propia). Ahora, no se puede viajar libremente porque no puedes comprar moneda extranjera... ¿Qué carajo es esto? ¿Estamos todos locos? ¿Qué viene después?.. La solución no es prohibir comprar moneda extranjera, la solución es solucionar los problemas para que la gente no tenga que ahorrar en moneda extranjera.

Pero no se olviden que el pueblo siempre tiene la razón, le duela a quien le duela. Y como decía Cordera también: tienen el poder y lo van a perder, tienen el poder y lo van a perder...
But don't forget that the people is always right.... and as Cordera was saying in the already mentioned song: "they have the power, but they r gonna lose it, they have the power, but they r gonna lose it..."
