José María "Pechito" López se coronó campeón del mundo del mundial de turismos FIA WTCC, luego ganar la primera de las dos carreras celebradas hoy Nov 26th (Nationaltag in Österreich!) en Suzuka, Japón. 
José María "Pechito" López is the new FIA WTCC 2014 World Champion after finishing in first position of the first race in Suzuka, Japan, this early morning Nov. 26th.

La razón por la que hago este post no es solo para felicitar a Pechito, sino también para tratar de corregir una información que ha sido generada incorrectamente por el periodismo en argentina y copiada también erróneamente alrededor del mundo. 
The reason of this post is to congratulate Pechito, but also to correct some wrong information that the argentinean media is distributing, and the rest of the world copying without checking. 

"Pechito" López NO es el primer argentino después de Juan Manuel Fangio en ganar un campeonato del mundo FIA, ya que en el año 2001 otro cordobés llamado Gabriel Pozzo se coronaba campeón del campeonato del mundo de rallys, en el Grupo N (de producción), el FIA PWRC, a bordo de un Mitsubishi Evo, victoria que le abrió las puertas para subirse a un Skoda Octavia WRC al año siguiente junto al equipo oficial Skoda, experiencia que luego se vio trunca por la crisis económica de finales del 2001 en Argentina.
"Pechito" López is not the first argentinean World Champion of a FIA championship after Juan Manuel Fangio, because in the year 2001 another guy from Córdoba, Gabriel Pozzo, was World Champion of the FIA PWRC (Production World Rally Championship, or Group N) driving a Mitsubischi Evo, victory that opened the door to drive a Skoda Octavia WRC the next year, experience that was truncated by the economical crisis of the end of 2001 in Argentina.

Es un poco una vergüenza que la mayoría de los periodistas en Argentina comentan un error como este, siendo hoy por hoy tan fácil buscar información por ejemplo en internet. Y es aún peor que algunos periodistas de los que se hacen llamar "del mundo motor" cometan también el mismo error. 
It's a shame that all the journalists in Argentina are making this mistake. Nowadays is so easy to search for information that this mistake makes no sense. It´s even worst for those so-called "motorsports" journalists.

Tampoco me ha gustado que los comentaristas británicos de la señal oficial de WTCC (transmitida por Eurosport) reproduzcan la misma incorrecta información, pero bueno, en este caso puede entenderse por no ser argentinos.
And I also didn´t like that even the official WTCC signal emitted via Eurosport, in the voice of the british commentators, are just copying the information. Those were some of the last words on todays transmission. But in this case it can be understood as they are not argentineans. 

De cualquier forma, felicitaciones a Pechito López. Cualquiera que haya seguido su carrera aunque sea parcialmente como lo he hecho yo puede saber que lo de este campeonato del mundo no es coincidencia ni suerte de principiante. Particularmente tuve la suerte de ver sus dos carreras este año en el Salzburgring y estoy curioso de ver qué pasa el año que viene. 
Anyway, congratulations to Pechito López. Whoever was following his career knew that this is not a coincidence. I had the honor to see his 2 races in Salzburgring this year. Let´s see what happens next!
